For just a moment I felt a shift
Like your soul was about to drift,

Then suddenly mine would-not-start,
Without yours…
I was lost…
No words were spoken,
When your soul left
My heart was broken
How close can two people be?
So close I could not see,
That you were not happy…
Why is it that it takes leaving?
For us to begin believing,
That what we have is real
That the passion that we feel,
Somehow gets corrupted…
By misunderstandings that have interrupted,
Our love affair…
For a moment when you left
It felt like a midnight theft
Of my single beating heart…
Like a quick pick-pocket hand

Until your love was gone…
Gone from the harbor of my soul
A vacant hollowness for me to know…
That even now, you still loved me…
For just this one moment
